The human species is part of the living world inhabiting planet Earth. And with all life, it has one common evolutionary basis – DNA. It is the carrier of all the information about us and our characteristics, shaped by heredity and the evolution of the changing characteristics of our ancestral organisms. Through natural selection, where the strongest and most viable within life asserts itself, our DNA also changes and acquires new characteristics. We often speak in hyperbole about what we do or do not have in our DNA, where we figuratively attribute DNA to non-living things, phenomena and concepts.
In the same way, the choreographers Uladzimir Ivanou and Markéta Pimek Habalová were inspired by the “DNA of the Theatre World Brno Festival”, which can transmit in hyperbole the cultural genomes of our society or information about the topics addressed by the current edition of the festival. And so, in the three parts of the choreography called DNA, set to the music of composer Murcof, we will fly through the ages encoded in our double helix and witness evolution, this uncontrollable and spontaneous process of the biosphere.

Choreography: Uladzimir Ivanou, Markéta Pimek Habalová
